Casa LIBRE

Issue
An identity that expresses Catalonia's "freedom"
Casa LIBRE is a cafe that opened in Kawanishi City, Hyogo Prefecture in 2024. The owner, Mr. Higuchi, trained in Catalonia, Spain and became independent in Japan. LIBRE means "freedom" in Spanish. We were looking for an identity that would express our attitude of valuing Spanish freedom while striving for an unconstrained way of life.

Solution
A free form that breaks through the framework
The visual identity is composed of an octagonal shape seen from above the Spanish city, with the logotype placed to freely slip through it. It embodies a philosophy that is not bound by various rules or preconceived notions, while firmly adhering to the basics and fundamentals.

Issue
We search for a "face" that suits a bakery that aspires to be a "giving presence."
Bakery Dāna is a bakery that opened in Kyoto in 2025. Dāna is a Pali word meaning "donation" and the owner of the bakery opened his own bakery with the desire to give what he has to people, just as the name suggests. With the opening of the new store, a friendly logo that reflected this philosophy was required.
Solution
Creating a universal "form of giving" that makes you want to go there every day.
When designing the logo, we first interviewed the owner about the environment in which the store is located and the background of why he decided to become independent. Because the area is mostly residential, we wanted a familiarity that would become a part of everyday life, and a uniqueness that would express the nature of the store. We designed a logotype with a distinctive "D" that is simple yet tries to show off a part of it. The bulge overlaps with the process of baking bread.
